What are the relative costs and benefits (to employers) of making infertility treatment available to their employees?

This option entails describing policies governing the receipt and/or delivery of infertility treatment in your U.S. state of residence; identifying stakeholders “weighing in” on this issue; assessing demand for infertility treatment services among state residents; and characterizing access to these services in your state.
Option One Task:
What are the relative costs and benefits (to employers) of making infertility treatment available to their employees? Although you are not expected to conduct a full blown cost/benefit analysis, your response to this question should rely heavily upon the peer-reviewed literature reporting the findings of cost-benefit analyses on this issue. (NOTE: You need not base this particular discussion upon state-level information.) Please limit your response to 3 pages.
SLP Assignment Expectations
For this assignment, you are to write a paper in which you respond to one of the aforementioned prompts. You are expected to consult and cite the relevant peer-reviewed literature on cost-benefit analysis and infertility treatment (Option #1) OR continuing medical education formats and their relative effectiveness (Option #2).
LENGTH: 3 pages typed and double-spaced for Option #1
The following items will be assessed in particular:
1.PRECISION: Each of the questions of the assignment is specifically addressed in the paper.
2.CLARITY: The paper reads clearly (i.e., it is not confusing) and is well-structured.
3.BREADTH: The paper presents appropriate breadth covering the questions of the assignment.
4.DEPTH: The paper presents points that lead to a deeper understanding of the matters and/or issues being discussed and integrates several points into coherent conclusions.
5.APPLICATION: Your assignment reflects an application of concepts and principles covered in this course to policies governing infertility treatment or to clinical practice.
Keep in mind that “A” papers are truly exceptional works that go beyond simply answering the questions.
NOTE: Please be sure to provide citations of sources consulted in preparing your paper in the body of the actual document itself (i.e., in addition to furnishing a reference list). Remember, any statement that you make that is not common knowledge or that originates from your synthesis or interpretation of materials that you have read must have a citation associated with it. For guidelines on in-text citations, visit the following web site: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/02/
If you cannot locate an article in one set of databases (i.e. EBSCO), try to locate it in ProQuest.
The readings that follow provide a basic overview of advocacy efforts aimed at achieving health insurance coverage of infertility treatment and bring the disability rights discourse to this debate. Should infertility be viewed as a disability? Who should bear the cost of infertility treatment deemed to be medically necessary? These are questions that you will need to reflect upon as you review these texts.
